St. Mark's Pro-Cathedral

On Sunday 1 February 2009, The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, and the Primates of the Anglican Communion, in conjunction with the Bishop of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa, The Most Rev. Dr. Mouneer Hanna Anis, dedicated St. Mark's as a Pro-Cathedral, as it is the first Anglican Church in Egypt.  We also celebrated the installation of The Very Rev. Samy Shehata as the Dean of the Pro-Cathedral.  Thank you to all who attended and made this day a blessing.  We especially thank all of our ecumenical partners, the Governor of Alexandria, and our faithful parishioners of St. Mark's.  May this Pro-Cathedral continue to be a beacon of light in Alexandria, pointing to Jesus Christ.
