Refuge Egypt
Refuge Egypt Refuge Egypt is a Christian development organization that operates out of All Saint's Anglican Cathedral in Zamalek, Cairo. We seek to serve refugees regardless of background or relation . Often, wherever refugees find themselves, they are met with the same message, "You're not wanted…" "You’re a burden to us"…The world and sometimes the church, views them as a threat and a burden; rather than people in need of compassion and refuge. They are unwanted, vulnerable and often exploited. Their journey is paved with tears of loneliness, rejection and discouragement. In Refuge Egypt, we are seeking to reach out to many who have fled war-torn countries and are seeking asylum. The ministry is very much part and parcel of the ministry of the overall strategy of the Diocese and operates most of its programmes out of the Cathedral premises.

The Most Rev. Dr. Mouneer Hanna Anis
Pentecost 2010My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, at Pentecost, the Church received the Holy Spirit. This was in fulfilment of Jesus' promise to his disciples "wait until you receive power from on high" Acts 1:8. With receiving the Holy Spirit the disciples received a power to share the Good News within Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the rest of the world. The Holy Spirit still empowers the church today to advance Christ's mission. Jesus Christ and his disciples showed us how we can share the Good News with the people around us. |
