Elected by the Central Synod of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, Bishop Mouneer Anis of the Dicoese of Egypt was installed as the President Bishop and Primate of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East in a ceremony at All Saints Cathedral in Cairo on 18th April, 2007.

On May 15, 2000, The Rev. Dr. Mouneer Hanna Anis was consecrated and installed as the Bishop of the Episcopal/Anglican Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa.  Bishop Mouneer succeeded the Right Reverend Ghais Abdel Malik upon his retirement as Bishop of Egypt.  The service of consecration was held at All Saints Cathedral, Cairo.

Bishops from the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, along with President Bishop Clive Handford, were joined by bishops from around the world to lay hands on and ask the Holy Spirit to descend upon Dr. Mouneer. around the world to lay hands on and ask the Holy Spirit to descend upon Dr. Mouneer.
