Summer 2009Highlights of the Habesha Congregation We were very much encouraged by participating, for the first time in the history of the Diocese of Egypt, in the Diocesan Synod meeting held from 15-19 June 2009. This brought a special understanding of belongedness to the Habesha Congregation. We were very much encouraged by Bishop Mouneer Anis' visit on 28th August 2009, with a timely message and break of bread together; fellowship followed. Some who attended for the first time came to appreciate the Anglican way of worshiping God, each in our own languages. Photo of Bishop Mouneer and Lay Minister Nebiyou

We said "Goodbye" to a few members who left Egypt, and we said "Goodbye" to one member who passed away on 31 August 2009. The Habesha Congregation was deeply saddened by the loss. Saying "Goodbye" to Tigisit

Pentecost 2010My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, at Pentecost, the Church received the Holy Spirit. This was in fulfilment of Jesus' promise to his disciples "wait until you receive power from on high" Acts 1:8. With receiving the Holy Spirit the disciples received a power to share the Good News within Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the rest of the world. The Holy Spirit still empowers the church today to advance Christ's mission. Jesus Christ and his disciples showed us how we can share the Good News with the people around us. |
